Read the warnings carefully and follow the instructions and directions. Notes Notes contain information that is particularly important to follow. They are highlighted by a thickly framed box. Additional information and comments Additional information and comments are contained in a narrow frame. They are not imperative for the operation of the commercial dishwasher.
Proper use This dishwasher complies with current safety requirements. Inappropriate use can, however, lead to personal injury and damage to property. To avoid the risk of accidents and damage to the dishwasher, please read these instructions carefully before using it for the first time. They contain important information on its safety, installation, use and maintenance. Keep these instructions in a safe place and pass them on to any future owner.
Proper use This dishwasher is supplied with a special bulb to cope with particular conditions (e.g., temperature, moisture, chemical resistance, abrasion resistance and vibration). This special bulb must only be used for the purpose for which it is intended, i.e. to illuminate the wash chamber. It is not suitable for room lighting. Replacement of bulbs may only be carried out by a Miele-authorized technician.
Important safety instructions Proper installation Do not install the machine in an area where a danger of explosion or of freezing temperatures may be present. Be careful when installing the dishwasher. Wear protective gloves to avoid injury on any sharp metal components. To ensure the stability of undercounter dishwashers, these units may only be installed beneath a continuous countertop that is bolted to adjacent cabinetry.
Important safety instructions Faulty components may only be replaced by genuine Miele original parts. Only when these parts are fitted can Miele guarantee the safety standards of the appliance. The electrical safety of this dishwasher can only be guaranteed when correctly grounded. If in any doubt, please have the electrical installation tested by a qualified electrician. Miele cannot be held liable for the consequences of an inadequate grounding system (e.g., electric shock).
Important safety instructions The plastic housing of the water connection contains electrical components. It must not be dipped in water. There are live wires in the water intake hose. Do not shorten the water intake hose, even if it is too long.
Important safety instructions Correct use This dishwasher is designed for operation with water and cleaning agents suitable for use in dishwashers only. Organic solvents and flammable liquid agents must not be used. This could cause an explosion, damage rubber or plastic components in the dishwasher and cause liquids to leak out of it. Only use cleaning agents formulated for use in dishwashers. Unsuitable cleaning agents could adversely affect components of the dishwasher or the items being cleaned.
Important safety instructions When using detergents and specialized products, it is essential that the manufacturer's instructions are followed. Detergents must only be used for the purpose they are designed for and in the situation specified, to avoid material damage and serious chemical reactions (e.g. oxyhydrogen explosion). Do not inhale or ingest powder detergent.
Important safety instructions Children in the vicinity Children should be supervised in the vicinity of the dishwasher. Never allow children to play with the dishwasher. There is a danger that children might shut themselves in the dishwasher. Children must be kept away from the dishwasher unless they are constantly supervised. If the automatic door opening mechanism is active, keep young children away from the area in which the door opens.

Ensure that any plastic wrappings, bags, etc. are disposed of safely and kept out of the reach of children. Danger of suffocation! Disposal of your old appliance Electrical and electronic appliances contain valuable materials.
Caring for the environment Energy-saving dishwashing This dishwasher is exceptionally economical in its use of water and electricity. You can make the most of your machine by following these tips: – Make full use of the baskets without overloading the dishwasher. This results in the most economical dishwashing. – Choose a program that best suits the degree of soiling and the type of dishes being washed. – Select the ECO program for energysaving dishwashing.
Initial commissioning Opening the door Closing the door At the end of programs with a drying phase (see “Program guide”), the door will open automatically a little in order to help the drying process. This function can be deactivated, if preferred (see “Settings, AutoOpen”). Push the baskets in. Then lift the door upwards and push until it clicks into position. Danger of crushing injuries! Do not put your hand inside the door as it is closing. Pull the handle to open the door.
Initial commissioning Basic settings Time of day Open the door. The display will then change to the screen for setting the time. Turn the dishwasher on with the button. The welcome screen will appear when the dishwasher is turned on for the first time. Language The display will change automatically to the screen for setting the language. Use the arrow buttons to select the language you want and also the country, if appropriate, and confirm your selection with OK.
Initial commissioning Water hardness The display changes to the screen for setting the water hardness. Finally, the notes Miele@home enabled and Set up complete will appear in the display. – The dishwasher must be programmed to the correct water hardness for your area. After confirming these notes with OK, the messages Refill salt and Refill rinse aid may appear. – Your local water authority will be able to advise you of the water hardness level in your area.
Initial commissioning Before using the machine for the first time, you require: – approx. 2 L of water, – approx. 4.4 lb of dishwasher salt, – detergent for commercial dishwashers, – rinse aid for commercial dishwashers. Suitable products are available from Miele Professional. Every dishwasher is tested at the factory. There will be residual water in the machine from this test. It is not an indication that the dishwasher has been used previously.
Initial commissioning Filling the salt reservoir Important! Before filling the salt reservoir with dishwasher salt for the first time, you must fill it with approx. 2 L of water to enable the salt to dissolve. Once the dishwasher has been used for the first time, there is always sufficient water in the reservoir. Remove the lower basket from the wash chamber and unscrew the salt reservoir cap. Water or brine will run out of the reservoir when the cap is removed.
Initial commissioning Salt refill indicator Fill the salt reservoir with dishwasher salt when Refill salt appears in the display. Confirm with OK. The salt refill indicator will go out. Danger of corrosion! Run the Cold pre-rinse program without a load immediately after having filled the reservoir with salt in order to dilute any brine which may have overflowed and have it pumped away.
Initial commissioning Rinse aid Adding rinse aid Rinse aid is necessary to ensure water does not cling and leave marks on cookware during the drying phase, and helps cookware dry faster after it has been washed. Rinse aid is poured into the storage reservoir and the amount set is dispensed automatically. Fill the reservoir with rinse aid for commercial dishwashers only. Do not fill it with washing-up liquid or cleaning agent. This would damage the rinse aid reservoir.
Initial commissioning Rinse aid indicator When the Refill rinse aid message appears in the display, the reservoir contains sufficient rinse aid for 2 – 3 programs only. Add rinse aid in plenty of time. Confirm with OK. The rinse aid refill indicator will go out. Add rinse aid only until it is visible in the opening. The rinse aid reservoir holds approx. 3.7 oz. (110 ml). Close the flap firmly so that it clicks into place. Otherwise water can enter the rinse aid reservoir during a program.
Loading the dishwasher Tips Remove coarse food residues from the dishes. There is no need to rinse items under running water! Do not wash items soiled with ash, sand, wax, grease, or paint in the dishwasher. These will damage the dishwasher. Dishes can be loaded anywhere in the baskets, but the following notes should be observed: – Do not place dishes or cutlery inside other pieces. They will cover each other. – Make sure that small items cannot fall through the holders in the baskets. Small items, e.g.
Loading the dishwasher Items not recommended for dishwashing – Wooden cutlery, cutting boards and dishes or items with wooden parts – Craft items, antiques, valuable vases, and decorative glassware – Plastic items which are not heat-resistant: the high temperatures in the dishwasher may cause them to melt or lose shape. – Copper, brass, tin and aluminum items may discolor or become matt. – Colors painted over a glaze may fade after a number of washes.

Cleaning and care Maintenance To prolong the service life of the dishwasher, it should should be serviced at least once a year by Miele Customer Service.
Cleaning and care Cleaning the door and the door seal To better maintain your appliance avoid the following: The door seal and the sides of the dishwasher door are not accessed and cleaned by the spray arm jets. – Cleaning products containing soda, ammonia, acid, or chloride Regularly wipe off any food or drink residues which may have dripped onto the sides and seals of the dishwasher door with a damp cloth before closing it to prevent the build-up of mold.
Cleaning and care Checking the filters in the wash chamber Filter system Turn the dishwasher off. The filter combination in the base of the wash chamber retains coarse soil from the suds solution. This prevents soiling getting into the circulation system and re-entering the chamber through the spray arms. This dishwasher must not be used without all the filters in place! Filters can become blocked by soiling which collects over time.
Cleaning and care To clean the inside of the filter, the flap must be opened: Replace the filter system so that it lies flat in the base of the wash cabinet. Press catches together in the direction of the arrows as shown, and open the filter . Then turn the handle clockwise until both arrows point towards each other. This will lock the filter system in place. Rinse all the filters under running water. Then close the flap so that the catch engages.
Cleaning and care Cleaning the spray arms Particles of food can get stuck in the spray arm jets and bearings. The spray arms should therefore be checked and cleaned regularly. Turn the dishwasher off. Remove the spray arms as follows: Take out the cutlery tray (if applicable). Push the top spray arm upward to engage the inner ratchet, then unscrew the spray arm. Pull the lower spray arm firmly upward to remove it.

Plumbing Connecting the water drainage system – The machine drainage system has a non-return valve, which prevents dirty water from flowing back into the dishwasher via the drain hose. – The dishwasher drainage hose should be connected to a separate on-site drain for the dishwasher only. If no separate drain is available, we recommend connecting it to a dualchamber siphon.
