6-3. Controller − General Information
The controller monitors the differential pres-
sure between the clean and dirty-air plen-
ums to indicate the filter condition. It con-
trols the pressure drop by turning the clean-
ing mechanism on and off at the set limits.
There are three set points: High Pressure
On, Low Pressure Off, and Alarm. High
Pressure On and Low Pressure Off control
the filter cleaning system. The Alarm set
point provides a relay output to activate an
external alarm (customer supplied).
The controller can be programmed to per-
form the following functions:
 Clean filters while the extractor is run-
ning to maintain a constant pressure
drop across the filters.
 Clean filters only after the extractor is
shut down (after-shift cleaning).
 Clean filters while running and at end
of shift.
Controller Features
24 Volt DC Motor Start/Feedback Relay
The 24 volt DC start relay allows custom-
er-supplied equipment to start the fume ex-
tractor fan and cleaning systems. The low
voltage feedback signal allows the fume ex-
tractor to interlock with other customer-sup-
plied equipment (when the extractor is run-
ning) by relaying the low voltage signal back
to the sending equipment.
