7-6. Installing HEPA Filter Option
! Disconnect and lockout/tagout
input power. Follow established
procedures regarding the instal-
lation and removal of lockout/
tagout devices.
 The high-efficiency HEPA filters are
designed to capture small particu-
late and can only be used with the
factory-installed HEPA exhaust
plenum.
 Installation of the HEPA filter option
is shown on a Filtair 8000. Installa-
tion is similar on all models.

Remove panel from plenum. Retain
hardware. Discard panel. Remove old
sealant from plenum where panel was in-
stalled.

Remove knobs and brackets to remove
HEPA filters from carrier.
Apply sealant around openings in ex-
haust plenum. Be sure to apply sealant
around holes for mounting hardware.
Use the panel hardware (removed earli-
er) to attach carrier to the exhaust plen-
um.
Reinstall HEPA filters in carrier. Secure
filters with brackets and knobs. Be sure
the filter gasket is compressed against
the carrier.
Turn unit on. Adjust airflow using the air-
flow control damper.
