The magicolor 7300 includes a parallel interface that sup-
ports both Centronics and IEEE 1284 parallel communica-
tion. It is Windows “Plug and Play” compatible and is the
same interface port used when adding the BuzzBox audi-
tory/visual communications device.
A USB interface (version 1.1) is included with the magicolor
7300 and supports Windows 98, Me, 2000, and XP. The USB
interface is Windows
“Plug and Play”.
The magicolor 7300 has an auto-sensing, resident Ethernet
(10/100BaseTX) interface port built into the printer. It has an
RJ-45 adapter with 10/100BaseTX capabilities to transport
data from the network to the printer. Companies that have
migrated to a Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) network will find the
printer ready for immediate installation. The same holds true
for businesses currently using a traditional 10 Mbps network.
The
magicolor 7300’s Ethernet interface supports NetWare
IPX/SPX, AppleTalk (EtherTalk), and TCP/IP protocols.
Additional protocols supported within TCP/IP are IPP v1.1,
LPR, FTP, DHCP, BootP, ARP, SNMP, SMTP, SLP, AutoIP,
Ping/ARP, and TCP/IP socket (Port 9100).
