When counting the number of pages printed, the printer
reads an 11" x 17" page as two faces. A duplexed 11" x 17"
page is counted (or normalized) as four faces. A letter-
size page that’s duplexed is counted (normalized) as two
faces. In addition to finding page count information on
the Statisitics Page, it’s also detailed on-screen from the
PageScope Light System tab.
Another capability found under the Print tab is direct
file printing. Any file supported by a standard emula-
tion—including PDF and PostScript—can be routed
straight to the printer. No source application or printer
drivers are required. Users simply “browse” their sys-
tem for the file, then click “print.” Direct file printing is
especially useful for individuals who download and
store PDF files from the Internet. Now they can just
point to those files, and, without opening Adobe
Acrobat, the magicolor 7300 will print the file. An inter-
nal hard disk (optional) is required.
