For added control, PageScope Light offers a password
protected site that allows allows administrators to control
printer features and settings. The administrative page
features a color-coded design with selections from four
categories: System, Print, Network, and Account.
•The System tab allows admin personnel to set and
change parameters related to paper handling, quality,
language preferences, admin passwords, and more.
•The Print tab has changeable settings related to I/O
timeout for local interfaces and IPP printer name, if
applicable.
•The Network tab features settings related to each sup-
ported protocol, such as allowing IT managers to set an
IP address for a TCP/IP network, assigning a print
server name and password over NetWare, etc.
•The Account tab’s primary function is the ability to per-
form Job and Error Accounting. The printer’s job
accounting data tracks usage patterns for each print
job—invaluable information for performing resource
management and auditing. Likewise, this function can
assist service personnel in determining printing prob-
lems. An internal hard disk (optional) is required.
Another useful feature of the Account tab is it allows
users to set who should receive email notification if the
printer requires attention.
Job Accounting is helpful for
tracking usage information.
