the printed piece. Color management does not mean all
devices will match exactly. It does insure the closest possi-
ble color transformation.
The MINOLTA-QMS Color Control System offers three
methods for color matching across devices:
Automatic color correction: for novice and professional
color users.
ColorSync and Windows ICM printer profiles: for
color professionals.

An ICC-compatible color management system (CMS), the
magicolor 7300’s automatic color correction is built into
the printer. Accessed through the printer driver, it uses
single-button controls for automatic correction of uncali-
brated RGB or CMYK color files.
As a printer-resident CMS, the printer’s automatic color cor-
rection system works well in all computing environments
and with most design, publishing, and office applications. Its
color matching methods are simple for both inexperienced
and professional color users to navigate.
ICC-compliant profiles for color matching: The magi-
color 7300’s automatic color correction system uses a
color matching method that functions similarly to
ColorSync—a color management software developed by
Apple. It accepts source (monitor) and destination
(printer or press) device profiles in the ICC format, then
uses the profiles to perform color space transformations.
The magicolor 7300 ships with built-in profiles for
matching common monitor types, such as sRGB and
Apple. Printing press profiles, including SWOP,
EuroColor, and Commercial—are also included for sim-
ulating press output.
