RGB G RAY T REATMENT
One other color option available when using the printer’s
PostScript driver is RGB Gray Treatment, which provides
a choice for how black and gray colors are produced:
•Black & Gray: The default selection, black and gray
shades are produced with true black (K). The printer’s
monochrome printing will be full speed.
•Black Only: When selected, black is printed as true
black (K), but grays are printed as composite black. For
this reason, monochrome printing will be at color speed
if gray shades are present.
•Composite Black: If this option is selected, all black
and gray shades are printed with composite black.
While monochrome printing will always print at color
speed, this option ensures gray gradients will have no
obvious steps from composite to true black.
