IG7600 Administration Manual
Note: When do you need this function?
If IG has a public IP for remote EXTs to reach there is NO NEED to use NAT Traversal.
When IG works under the public network, and has a domain name, there is NO NEED
to use NAT Traversal either.
Sometimes IG works behind a router, M54 can only reach to IG through the router
with the IGs domain name. We have to tell IG the Routers external IP Address if we
have a static one. As below:
If the Router does not have a reachable static external IP Address, we have to enable
NAT Traversal to make sure IG knows the Routers external IP address. And ask the
router to do Upnp Port mapping to make sure IG is reachable for Remote parties. The
Stun server and the TURN Server are for you to deal with these circumstances. In
most cases Stun server is used, TURN Server is more capable when the client
supports ICE, since M22, M62 and M54 doesnt support ICE, well not give you any
examples.
The UPNP port mapping is to tell the Router that packets to these ports should send
to your IG, it makes no sense when your router opens DMZ to your IG, because all
packets are surly sent to your IG.
