A stand-alone modem includes a power transformer. The unit conditions
the power supply.
The off-line configuration (OLC) button is on the back panel of some
stand-alone modems.
Pressing the button makes the modem enter command mode, in which
the user in synchronous or leased-line environments can change
configuration options.
Cards and stand-alone modems have the following front panel
interfaces (Figure D-3, Figure D-3, and Figure D-4).

Changing a Configuration With the OLC Button
Step Stage
1.
Change one or more configuration options.
2.
Enter the Save to Option Set command (AT&Wn, where n is 1 or 2).
3.
Enter the Option Set to Power Up In command (AT&Yn, where n is:
0 for last-loaded option set; 1 for Option Set 1, or 2 for Option Set 2)
4.
Press the OLC button. The modem restarts and powers up using the
selected configuration option set.
