2Hardware Installation

Introduction

The following sections discuss the installation of the PMCspan modules

and PMC adapters. The following installation procedures are provided:

❏ PMC adapter on a PMCspan

❏ PMCspan-001/-002 Primary PMC Carrier Module on a

MVME2300/2600/2700/3600/4600 VME processor module

❏ PMCspan-010 Secondary PMC Carrier Module on a PMCspan-

001/-002 Primary PMC Carrier Module

Refer to the installation instructions in VME processor module’s

installation and use manual before proceeding with these instructions.

Packaging

The PMCspan is packed in an anti-static package to protect it from any

static discharge. Observe standard handling practices of static sensitive

equipment.

Note Each PMCspan ships with a standoff hardware kit for

attaching the primary PMCspan to the

MVME2300/2600/2700/3600/4600 and the secondary

PMCspan to the primary PMCspan.
