System details Remote system
When creating a new entry, default values are available in the Device
description, Local location, Remote network ID and Mode description fields.
In many cases these defaults can be used, consult to the person responsible
for communications configuration on your system, for information about
values to use.
Remote location
This value can be retrieved by issuing DSPNETA system command on the
remote system, use value on line ‘Default local location’.
Device description
The name of the device description on the local system used for
communication with the remote system. Default value *LOC will use the
device associated with the remote system.
Local location
To retrieve this value, use system command DSPNETA on the local system,
and use value on line ‘Default local location’.
Remote network ID
This value can be retrieved by issuing DSPNETA system command on the
remote system, use value on line ‘Local network ID’.
Mode description
Name of the mode description used for communication with the remote
system.
