network for latest information about connection types supported.
1 Asynchronous modem. Dial-up connection using an ordinary V.24
communication line on the iSeries, with an asynchronous modem.
The AT command set is used. This connection type can be used for
outgoing messages and alarm calls.
2 X.32 via synchronous modem. This type uses X.32, i.e. synchronous
dial-up connection to the X.25 network. The service modem can be
used in this case. However, delays may occur if it is in use for other
purposes when a message should be sent. This connection type can
be used for outgoing messages and alarm calls.
3 X.25. Used together with a leased line connection to the X.25
network, currently for outgoing messages only.
