Lubrication - Apply a slight and uniform film of
lubricant over the whole length of the drive chain,
taking care not to smear the surrounding parts,
and in particular the tires.
CAUTION: Only use the lubricant speci-
fied in the paragraph 6.3. of this manual,
in order to protect the drive chain and
avoid oil spurts when the vehicle is in
motion.
WARNING: Chain lubrication must be per-
formed according to the intervals speci-
fied in the tables of scheduled mainte-
nance (see § 6.1.). It is also necessary to
perform this operation after riding under
the rain and after cleaning the motorcy-
cle. Never ride your motorcycle when the
drive chain is in poor condition or
improperly adjusted. Failure to heed this
warning can lead to, among other things,
rear wheel lockup with subsequent upset
and serious injury or even death.
