2. HOW TO PLAY
This game simulates downhill racing using a mountain bike. Up to four players, (if
two games are linked), can play at the same time.
At the start of the game each player selects one of four characters and a racing
course, (Speed course or Technical course).
Both pedalling and steering techniques are required to win the game.
(1) Control
The player controls the bike like an ordinary mountain bike. Use the pedals
to go forward, operate the handle to steer, and brake to decelerate.
* However, the player cannot go backwards by turning the pedals in reverse.
(2) Game Rules
This is a racing game for the player(s) to reach the finish as fast as
possible, within the given time period. Extra time is added each time the
player passes a checkpoint. If the time period reaches zero before a player
has completed the course the game is over.
The course has both downhill and flat sections.
On the downhill slopes, the player does not have to pedal but must steer
correctly.
On the flat sections, the player must pedal hard to win.
To win the game it is important to pedal and steer correctly and use your
energy (leg power) fully to dash in the flat sections.
(3) Course Selection
Speed Course
This course is unforked and requires no special bike techniques.
Technical Course
This course has more narrow sections and branches than the speed
course and requires some special braking and handling techniques (e.g.
at sharp curves
