The generic Plug-in panel for an External Plug-in.
The Plug-in panel shows following elements:
(1) Plug-in Header: See section 9.4.1, The Plug-in Header above for more information.
(2) Plug-in name.
(3) Preset menu: Click this menu to select a preset from those available for your VST/AU plug-
in. Each VST/AU plug-in might handle its presets (or patches, programs…) differently. See
section 6.3.4, Using VST/AU Plug-in Presets for more information on this.
(4) Icons indicating the plug-in format (VST or AU) and type: Instrument (keys icon) or Effect
(FX).
You can also undock any External Plug-in and open it in a separate floating window showing
the full user interface of the original third-party product see section 9.4.6, Undocking a
Plug-in Panel (Native Instruments and External Plug-ins only) for more information.

Undocking a Plug-in Panel (Native Instruments and External Plug-ins only)
You can undock the panel of a Native Instruments or External Plug-in and open it in its own
floating window by clicking the little diagonal arrow in the Plug-in Header:
Click the little diagonal arrow to open the Plug-in in a floating window.
