Operating Mode
You can use the extender in Internet Surfing mode or FastLane mode. In Internet Surfing
mode, you can connect to the extender through either the 2.4 GHz band or the 5 GHz band
and the extender connects to the router in both the 2.4 GHz band and the 5 GHz band. In
FastLane mode, you can connect to the extender in only one of the bands and the extender
connects to the router in the other band, based on the band that you select.
The advantage of Internet Surfing mode is that the extender provides two bands for the
clients. However
, the bandwidth of each band is shared by the connections between the
client and the extender and between the extender and the router, which reduces WiFi
performance. On the other hand, FastLane provides only one band for the clients to connect
to the extender but it offers maximum WiFi performance.
