264 Chapter 6 Configuring authentication
320818-A
Managing the local database using the CLI
You can add users to the database in two ways:
manually, using the
/cfg/domain 1/aaa/auth #/local/add command
by importing a database, using the
/cfg/domain 1/aaa/auth #/local/
import
command
You can use the local database for authorization only, after an external
authentication server has authenticated the user. To do so, use an asterisk (*) for
the user password in the local database. For information about configuring the
Nortel SNAS 4050 to perform external database authentication in conjunction
with local database authorization, see “Configuring advanced settings using
the CLI” on page 241.
To manage users and their passwords in the local database, use the following
command:
/cfg/domain 1/aaa/auth #/local
The Local database menu displays.
Note: The imported database overwrites existing entries in the local
database.
