NOVAK PRO SOLDER FLUX
Fast Wicking Liquid Flux Specially Chosen For The Highest Quality Solder
Joints When Used With Novak 3% Silver Solder & All Lead-Free Solders
For best results, always start with clean oxidation-free solder tabs
& freshly stripped wire. Use a high-quality soldering iron that can
supply the power required for the size of the soldering job--
Make
sure the iron’s tip is clean & in good condition for optimum performance
.
Apply a drop or two of flux to the surface to be soldered
(the wire end
or solder tab)
. Melt a small amount of solder onto the iron’s tip, then
apply heat to the exposed wire with the iron and feed additional
solder from the side
(where the iron meets the wire)
to “tin” the exposed
wire. Next tin the surface the wire will be soldered to. Use the iron
to heat/melt the two tinned surfaces and join them together--
hold
the wire still while the solder joint is cooling to avoid a “cold” solder joint
.
Precautions should be taken to avoid contact with eyes or mouth. Avoid prolonged skin
contact and always observe good housekeeping and personal hygiene measures such as
washing hands after handling the material and before eating, drinking, and/or smoking.
