Inserting and Ejecting SmartMedia cards
Ejecting SmartMedia cards

Set the POWER/LOCK switch to OFF.
The display disappears.

Raise the SmartMedia ejection switch.
Pull the SmartMedia card out with your fingers.

The SmartMedia ejection switch wont work
if the POWER/LOCK switch is set to ON.
Attention
SmartMedia cards are precision devices.
Never force the cards when inserting
them, or subject them to sharp blows.
Avoid handling and storing SmartMedia
cards in a hot, damp environment.
Do not touch the contact area (gold
electrodes) of the SmartMedia card with
bare hands. If a SmartMedia card gets dirty,
wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
SmartMedia cards may be vulnerable to
electrostatic data corruption. When carrying
a SmartMedia card, put it in its case.
Remember to back up data from SmartMedia
cards to a PC or other storage medium from
time to time ( P.47).
Corrupted, lost, or erased data cannot be
restored.

SmartMedia inserted fully into the

When you set the POWER/LOCK switch to
the ON position, PLEASE WAIT flashes on
the display.
SmartMedia not inserted fully into
the slot
When you set the POWER/LOCK switch to
the ON position, INSERT CARD flashes on
the display for 2 seconds. Pressing any button
with no SmartMedia card inserted causes
INSERT CARD to appear again.
Push the SmartMedia card fully into position.
