The speakers’ magnetic shield allows you to place them next to your PC’s monitor without causing picture distortion. Using Batteries You can power the speakers from eight C batteries (four in each speaker). For the best performance, we recommend alkaline batteries, such as RadioShack Cat. No. 23-651.

You can power the speakers from your vehicle’s cigarette-lighter socket using a DC adapter (not supplied), such as RadioShack Cat. No. 2701562. Cautions: • The recommended adapter supplies 12 volts DC power and delivers at least 600 milliamps. Its center tip can be set to positive, and its plug properly fits the right speaker’s DC 12V jack.

Caution: To protect your hearing, set VOLUME MIN/MAX to its minimum level. Follow these steps to connect the speakers to your audio source. 1. Make sure POWER OFF/ON is set to OFF. 2. Set the audio source’s power switch to off. 3. Plug the amplified speakers’ 1/8inch plug into the audio source’s headphone or line out jack.

Set BASS BOOST OFF/ON to ON to enhance the low frequency sounds. Set TREBLE OFF/ON to ON to enhance the high frequency sounds. 2. Turn on the audio source. 3. If you connected the amplified speakers to an audio source’s line out jack, adjust VOLUME MIN/MAX to a comfortable listening level. 5.

The following suggestions will help you care for the speakers so you can enjoy them for years. Keep the speakers dry. If they get wet, wipe them dry immediately. Liquids might contain minerals that can corrode the electronic circuits. Use and store the speakers only in normal temperature environments.
