LED Indicators

The LFE-8139ATX NIC comes with four LED indicators on the back plane of the adapter

that inform you about the following network status as shown in the figure on the next page.

If you experience any problems with the adapter, first make sure the appropriate driver is

loaded, the proper cable is connected to the adapter RJ-45 port, and the hub complies with the

adapter specifications, such as 10Mbps 10BASE-T or 100Mbps 100BASE-TX. Then recheck

the LEDs.

3 LED Indicators The LFE-8139ATX NIC comes with four LED indicators on the back plane of the adapter that inform you about the following network status as shown in the figure on the next page. The Setup Program ♦ FUDUP(Full Duplex) Indicator This indicator turns ON to indicate in Full-duplex mode; otherwise, it is OFF. The NIC supports full duplex at 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX. If the Switch hub supports the NWay feature and full duplex, the LFE-8139ATX NIC automatically runs in full duplex. ♦ 10/100(Link) Indicator This indicator turn ON under two conditions: a good connection has been established with a fast link pulse is detected on the UTP port and the adapter is running the network driver.

LED Indicators Table 3-1 below describes these LEDs. LED PWR (Power) Color Green Status ON 10/ 100 (Speed) Green ON Good 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX connection between NIC and Switch or hub. OFF No connection between NIC and Switch or hub. The RJ-45 port is operating in FullDuplex mode. FUDUP (Full-Duplex) TX/ RX Yellow ON Meaning The LFE-8139ATX NIC is receiving power. It is for Half-Duplex operation. The RJ-45 port is transmitting or receiving data.
