Safety Lanyard
Warnings & Precautions
A safety lanyard is included to reduce the risk of over-extending the ratchet binder on the CompOZite
Davit Crane. When î‚¿tted onto the same pins that the ratchet binder attaches to, this lanyard is the same
length as the ratchet binder (when extended to its maximum safe operating length).
The safety lanyard is meant only as an indicator to the operator that they have lowered the boom of the
crane to its lowest operating position (i.e. extended the ratchet binder to its maximum length). It will not
prevent the operator from over-extending the ratchet binder as the ratchet binder can generate enough
force to overcome this lanyard. When the safety lanyard becomes taught, the ratchet binder has been fully
extended.
