Power Source—The unit should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the operating instructions or as marked on the unit.

Concerning discs Do not use irregulary shaped discs, such as heart-shaped. (These discs can damage the unit.) ∫ How to hold a disc Do not touch the recorded shiny surface. ∫ If the surface is dirty Wipe it with a damp cloth and then wipe dry. Wipe from the center toward the circumference. Play surface (shiny surface) ∫ If the disc is brought from a cold to a warm environment, moisture may form on the disc Wipe with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth before using the disc.

Changing initial settings Change the initial settings to suit your preference and to suit the unit to the circumstances in which it is being used. These settings are retained in memory until they are changed, even if the unit is turned off. Common procedures 1 While stopped Press [SETUP] or [MENU] to display the initial settings screen.
Changing initial settings 1 Disc Languages (➡ page 29 for operation) These settings allow you to choose the languages used when a DVD is played. If the language selected is not available on the disc, the language designated by each disc will be selected. There are cases where the selected language is recorded but the disc designates another language.
2 Ratings (➡ page 29 for operation) You can limit play of DVDs which are unsuitable for some audiences, for example, children. Play and changes to the settings are not possible unless a password is entered. Factory Preset Level 8 : All DVDs can be played. Level 7 to 1 : Prevents play of DVDs with ratings Please set a rating limit recorded on them (those that contain 8 No Limit adult or violent scenes). 7 6 Level 0 : Play of all DVDs is prohibited.

Glossary Bitstream This is the digital form of multiple channel audio data (e.g., 5.1 channel) before it is decoded into its various channels. Chapter This is the smallest division on DVDs and is roughly equivalent to a track. Dolby Digital This is a method of coding digital signals developed by Dolby Laboratories. The signals are highly compressed, enabling a large amount of information to be recorded on 1 disc.

Some playing each song on a discs have an item in the menu that allows you to Karaoke DVD. play all the songs. Displays NO PLAY The unit cannot play this disc. “bAT Err” and a number appear on the display. “bAT Err 1”: A problem has occurred with the battery pack. Consult your dealer. “bAT Err 2”: The pack has been recharging for 12 hours but has failed to recharge for some reason. Recharge again. “bAT Err 3”: The battery pack has overheated during recharging. Allow the pack to cool down before recharging again. 10 — — — Messages do not appear on the television.
