The available flash range is an
approximation.
Refer to P85 for the ISO sensitivity.
Refer to P34 for the focus range.
If ISO sensitivity is set to [AUTO] or
[ ] when using the flash, it will be
automatically increased to a maximum of
[ISO400].
To avoid picture noises, we recommend
reducing the ISO sensitivity, setting
[NOISE REDUCTION] in [PICT.ADJ.] to
[HIGH] or setting the items except
[NOISE REDUCTION] to [LOW] to take
pictures. (P94)
In motion picture mode [ ] and
[SCENERY] (P65), [NIGHT SCENERY]
(P66), [FIREWORKS] (P68),
[STARRY SKY] (P68) or [HIGH SENS.]
(P70) in scene mode, the flash setting is
fixed to Forced OFF [ ] even if the flash
is opened.
Shutter speed for each flash setting
Refer to P59 for the Aperture-priority AE,
Shutter-priority AE or Manual exposure
mode.
There may be differences in the above
shutter speeds in scene mode.
[NIGHT SCENERY] (P66):
8 seconds to 1/2000th of a second
[FIREWORKS] (P68):
1/4th of a second, 2 seconds
[STARRY SKY] (P68):
15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds
Adjusting flash output
Adjust the flash output when the subject is
small or reflection ratio is extremely high or
low.
1 Press 3 ( ) several times until
[FLASH] appears and then press
2/1 to set the flash output.
Select [0] to return to the original flash
output.
