Appendix A: Troubleshooting
1. How do I restore my Modem Routers configuration to factory default settings?
With the router powered on, press the Reset button on the rear panel, keep holding it for about 5
seconds then release it.
2. Why I cannot login the Modem Router’s web management page?
Make sure the computer goes into the LAN port of the router.
Check the computer’s IP address; make sure the IP address is obtained automatically, for
details please refer to the section of Configure the Computers IP Address in this manual.
Make sure you put 192.168.1.1 into the address bar, not the search bar.
Check your web browser; make sure the Proxy server is unchecked. Take Internet Explorer as
an example, go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings, uncheck Use a
proxy server for your LAN.
If it tells you the username or password is error, and you cannot remember the new one,
please reset router by pressing reset button for at least 5 seconds, and then try to login with
default username and password (admin/admin).
3. What can I do if I forgot my login password for the Modem Routers web management
page 192.168.1.1?
Restore the Modem Router to its factory default settings, please refer to question 1.
Use the default username and password: admin, admin.
Reconfigure the Modem Router after you reset it successfully.
4. What can I do if I cannot access the Internet?
Make sure all the connectors are connected properly, including the telephone line, Ethernet
cables and power adapter.
Try to restart your Modem Router and computer.
Try to login to the web management page of the Modem Router. If you can, please check
the status of DSL light on the front panel of the Modem Router:
a) DSL light is solid on, please refer to question 5.
b) DSL light is blinking or off, please contact with your Internet Service Provider to check your
ADSL service.
If you cannot open the Modem Routers web management page, please try to reset the Modem
Router, refer to question 1.
5. What can I do if the DSL light is solid on, but the Internet light is off?
