3 Install the car entertainment system Always follow the instructions in this chapter in sequence. These instructions are for a typical installation. However, if your car has different requirements, make the adjustment accordingly. If you have any question regarding installation kits, consult your local retailer. Connect wires Note •• To enjoy video on an external screen, make sure that you have correctly connected the system to the screen as indicated below in step 2.

2 3 Remove the mounting sleeve with the supplied disassembly tools. Install the sleeve into the dashboard and bend the tabs outward to fix the sleeve. Note •• If the unit is not fixed by sleeve but by the supplied screw, skip this step. 6 3m Reconnect the negative terminal of the car battery. Detach the front panel Note •• Before you reset the system, detach the front panel. •• Before you detach the front panel, make sure that the system is powered off. 1 2 12 Press to release the front panel. Pull the front panel outwards to remove it.
4 Get started 1 2 3 Pull out the battery tray. Insert one CR2025 battery with correct polarity (+/-) as indicated. Insert the battery tray. Caution •• Risk of car accidents! Rotate clockwise to set the minute. If video image is abnormally displayed on the connect external screen, check the video connection and make the following setup. •• Make sure that a compatible video disc is inserted and Press /AS. »» The set clock is displayed. To exit the clock display, press again or rotate .
Set the languages for on-screen items 1 Press SETUP to access the menus for audio and video output settings. 5 Play from hard media You can use this system to listen to audio, watch videos, and view photos that are stored on a compatible disc or USB storage device. Note •• Before use, check for compatible media. Load a disc Caution Region Code You can play DVD discs marked with the following region code. DVD region code Latin America Connect a USB storage device Note •• Make sure that the USB storage device contains compatible files. •• NTFS (New Technology File System) file system is not supported.
Control play Audios Buttons / Basic control The following operations are applicable to all compatible media. Buttons / R/L/ / Numeric buttons on the remote control Functions Start, pause, or resume play. Press and hold it to stop play. You can press / to resume the play from the stop point. • For an audio or video, press and hold it again to end the play. Press to start the previous or next chapter, title, track, or file. Select an available repeat mode. • [REP ALL]: Repeat all tracks or files.

7 Listen to an external device You can use the system to amplify the audio input from an external device, for example, MP3 player. 1 2 3 Switch the source to [AUDIO IN]. Connect an audio input cable with a 3.5mm connector on both ends to • the AUDIO IN socket on the system, and • the audio output socket (usually the headphone socket) on the external device. Play audio on the external device.
8 Adjust sound • The following operations are applicable to all supported media. • General Button Function Rotate to increase or decrease the volume level. Press to mute the speakers or release them from mute status. Press to enable or disable the MAX Sound effect. Press and hold to enable or disable the Dynamic Bass Boost (DBB) effect.

10 Adjust AV output settings • If an external screen is correctly connected to this system, you can adjust the settings for audio and video output. Press SETUP to access the menus. 11 Others Tip •• If the fuse gets damaged immediately after it is replaced, an internal malfunction may occur. In this case, consult your Philips retailer. Reset the system If the system works abnormally, reset the system to factory default settings. 1 2 Detach the front panel. Press the RESET button with the tip of a ball-point pen or toothpick. »» All settings are reset to factory default. Replace the fuse If there is no power, check the fuse and replace it if it is damaged.
