APPENDIX C:
Troubleshooting
Before you begin troubleshooting, take some time to
check your hardware and software installation.
Update your software: We recommend installing the
latest operating system updates for Windows 98, ME,
2000 or XP. You can download these updates from:
windowsupdate.microsoft.com/default.htm
Make sure you have the latest version of the Studio
software installed by clicking the Help Âľ Software
Updates menu from within the program. Studio will
use the Internet to check for possible updates.
Check your hardware: Ensure that all installed
hardware is functioning normally with the latest drivers,
and is not flagged as having a problem in the Windows
Device Manager (see below). If any devices are flagged
you should resolve the issue before starting installation.
Get the latest drivers: We also highly recommend
installing the latest drivers for your sound card and
graphics card. During the Studio software launch
process we do verify that your sound card and video
card support DirectX.
Go to the manufacturers’ web-sites to get the latest
drivers for your sound and graphics cards. Many users
