3. An adjusting pin and screw is used to adjust the tension of the chain. It is very import,ant when assembling the bar, that the pin located on the adjusting screw aligns into a hole in the bar. Turning the screw will move the adjustment pin up and down the screw. Locate this adjustment before you begin mounting the bar onto the saw. See following illustration. 10 Pull guide bar forward until chain is snug in guide bar groove. Ensure all drive links are in the bar groove. 11.
Adjusting Screw 6 3. Using bar tool, roll chain around guide bar to ensure all links are Jn bar groove. 4-. Uff up tip of guide bar to check for sag. Release tip of guide bar, then turn adjusting screw 1/4 turn clockwise. Repeat until sag does not exist. Adjusting Screw 7 8 - _/4 Turn Use the screwdriver end of the bar tool to move chain around guide bar. if chain does not rotate, it is too fight. Stight]y loosen bar nuts and loosen chain by turning the adjusting screw 1/_ turn counterclockwise.
THRO'FrLE LOCK-OUT The THRO_-LE LOCK-OUT must be pressed before you can squeeze the throttle trigger This feature prevents you from accidentally squeezing the togger. CHOKE/FAST IDLE LEVER The choke and fast idle are set by puIling the CHOKE/FAST IDLE LEVER out to the full extent for cold starting or after refueling The choke provides additional fuel to the engine during cold starting. PRIMER BULB The PRIMER BULB circulates fuef to the carburetor to provide quicker starting.

Do not let starter tope snap back. Hold the handle and let the rope rewind slowly.

FELLING LARGE TREES • DO NOT cut down a partially fallen tree with your saw. Be extremely cautious with partiaIly fallen trees that may be poorly supported. When a tree doesn't fall compIetely, set the saw aside and pull down the tree with a cable winch, b}ock and tackle, or tractor. (g inches (15 cm) in diameter or larger) The notch method is used to fell large trees. A notch is cut on the side of the tree in the des{red direction of fall.

REPLACE SPARK PLUG The spark plug should be replaced each year to ensure the engine starts easier and runs better, ignition timing is fixed and nonadjustab}e. 1. Loosen 3 screws on cylinder cover 2. Remove the cylinder cover. 3. Pull off the spark plug boot. 4-. Remove spark plug from cylinder and discard. 5. Rep}ace with Champion RCJ-7Y spark plug and tighten securely with a 3/4 inch (19 mm) socket wrench. Spark plug gap shoutd be 0.025 inch (0,6 ram). 6. ReinstalIthe spark plug boot. 7.
