REMOVAL OF OLD PUMP Remove filter from inlet nut, and using a 3/8” allen wrench or socket, unscrew the inlet fitting from the pump. Then use a 7/8” wrench to unscrew the chemical injector/quick connect fitting from the pump. You may have a one piece assembly, or your chemical injector may be separate from quick connect fitting. Remove the two Phillips head screws holding the plastic shroud in place Remove plastic shroud, exposing pump Using a 3/4” wrench, remove unloader valve.
Using a 1/2” wrench, remove 4 hex head bolts holding pump to the motor. Pull pulse hose underneath the frame from the rubber mounting grommet, so the hose will hang free. Slide pump off engine shaft. You may have to angle the pump slightly to allow the pulse hose to come out of the hole in the frame. Using a 5/32” allen wrench, remove the set screw holding drive gear onto engine crankshaft. You are now ready to install new pump.
INSTALLATION OF NEW PUMP You will need the x-flange, black bolts, and star washers. Attach the flange to the engine, with the flat side towards the engine. Attach the flange with the four black bolts, using a 3/16” allen socket. Snug them so they are flush with the flange. Place key in groove on engine shaft. Line up the groove on the pump with the key. Slide pump onto the engine crankshaft. Using a 5/16” allen socket, screw the four mounting bolts through the pump, into the flange. Snug.
Apply Teflon tape to threads of chemical injector on the outlet port of the pump. Screw quick connect fitting onto chemical injector. Apply Teflon tape to threads of inlet nipple Insert nipple through nut, and thread the nipple into the pump head. Tighten with a 1/2” allen socket. Install filter.
Remove red shipping plug from top of pump. Install black oil plug in top of pump before attempting to start and run pump. Discard old pump and plastic shroud.
