BEFORE YOU BEGIN Congratulations for selecting the new PROFORM® GAMEFIT exercise cycle. Cycling is one of the most effective exercises for increasing cardiovascular fitness, building endurance, and toning the entire body. The GAMEFIT exercise cycle offers a selection of features designed to let you enjoy this healthful exercise in the convenience and privacy of your home. reading this manual, please see the front cover of this manual.
ASSEMBLY Assembly requires two persons. Place all parts of the exercise cycle in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Assembly requires the included tools and your own adjustable wrench screwdriver . and Phillips Use the part drawings below to identify the small parts used in assembly. The number in parentheses below each drawing refers to the key number of the part, from the PART LIST near the end of this manual.
1. 1 To make assembly easier, read the information on page 5 before you begin assembling the exercise cycle. Identify the Front Stabilizer (2), which has round wheels. While another person lifts the front of the Frame (1), attach the Front Stabilizer to the Frame with two M10 x 73mm Button Screws (33) and two M10 Split Washers (34). 1 2 34 34 33 2.
4. Orient the Handlebar (47) as shown. While a second person holds the Handlebar near the Upright (3), insert the Game Wires (45) into the front of the Upright and pull them upward out of the top of the Upright. Tip: Use an elastic band or a piece of tape to prevent the Game Wires and the Upper Wire Harness (32) from falling down into the Upright. 4 32 3 45 Attach the Handlebar (47) to the Upright (3) with two M8 x 45mm Button Screws (67) and two Curved Washers (66). 66 66 5.
7. While another person holds the Console (6) near the Upright (3), connect the console wire harness to the Upper Wire Harness (32). Next, connect the console game wire marked with a tag to the Game Wire (45) marked with a tag. Then, connect the other console game wire to the other Game Wire. 7 Tip: Avoid pinching the wires during this step. Insert the excess wires downward into the Upright (3). Attach the Console (6) to the Upright with four M4 x 15mm Bright Screws (15).
10. Orient the Seat (12) and the Seat Carriage (26) as shown. Attach the Seat to the Seat Carriage with four M8 Locknuts (37) and four M8 Split Washers (36). Note: The Seat Carriage, Locknuts, and Split Washers may be preattached to the underside of the Seat. 10 5 Slide the Seat Carriage (26) onto the Seat Post (5) and move the Seat Carriage forward or backward to the desired position. Then, tighten the Seat Knob (52) into the Seat Carriage.
HOW TO OPERATE THE EXERCISE CYCLE HOW TO ADJUST THE HEIGHT OF THE SEAT For effective exercise, the seat should be at the Seat proper height. To adjust the seat, first turn the adjustment knob counterclockwise several turns to loosen it. Next, pull the knob, slide the seat post upward or downward to the desired position, and then release the knob.
CONSOLE DIAGRAM Interactive Games FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The console also features two motivational interactive games. Using the dual game controllers, play the challenging Fat Blocker™ game or the fast-paced Calorie Destroyer™ game during your workouts—the harder you exercise, the greater the advantage you will have! The console keeps track of the four highest scores for each game—compete with other users or try to top your own high score.
HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE 4. Follow your progress with the display. Note: If there is a sheet of clear plastic on the face of the console, remove the plastic. The upper left corner of the display will show the elapsed time. Note: When a workout is selected, the display will show the time remaining in the workout instead of the elapsed time. 1. Begin pedaling or press any button on the console to turn on the console. A moment after you begin pedaling or press a button, the display will light. 2.
HOW TO USE A SMART WORKOUT The console can show speed and distance in either miles or kilometers. The letters MPH or KM/H will appear in the display to show which unit of measurement is selected. To change the unit of measurement, first press and hold down the Workouts button for several seconds until the word ENGLISH or METRIC appears in the display. Next, press the decrease button to select the desired unit of measurement. Then, press the Workouts button to save your selection. 1.
When the first segment of the workout ends, the resistance setting and the target speed setting for the second segment will appear in the center of the display for a few seconds to alert you. The entire profile will then shift one column to the left, and the pedals will automatically adjust to the resistance setting for the second segment. If the resistance setting for the current segment is too high or too low, you can manually override the setting by pressing the increase and decrease buttons.
HOW TO PLAY THE FAT BLOCKER GAME Your goal is to maneuver the Complete Row blocks so that they form a complete row of black squares across the entire arena. Each time you complete a row of black squares, the row will disappear, and all blocks above will move downward one row. The Fat Blocker game requires quick thinking and fast reflexes. You will use the four-button game controllers on the handlebars to play the game. Follow the steps below to play the Fat Blocker game. 1.
HOW TO PLAY THE CALORIE DESTROYER GAME Between the drones and the laser blaster are five shields. You can hide the laser blaster below a shield if desired. However, each time a shield is hit by a laser, a piece will be vaporized. The Calorie Destroyer game is a fast-paced game that pits you against a squadron of laser-firing drones. You will use the four-button game controllers on the handlebars to play the game. Follow the steps below to play the Calorie Destroyer game.
MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING Next, locate the Reed Switch (21). Turn the Left Crank Arm (42) until the 21 Magnet (16) is 53 aligned with 16 the Reed 42 Switch. Loosen, but do not remove, the indicated M5 x 12mm Screw (53). Slide the Reed Switch slightly closer to or away from the Magnet, and then retighten the Screw. Turn the Crank Arm for a moment. Repeat until the console displays correct feedback. Inspect and properly tighten all parts of the exercise cycle regularly.
EXERCISE GUIDELINES WARNING: Burning Fat—To burn fat effectively, you must exercise at a low intensity level for a sustained period of time. During the first few minutes of exercise, your body uses carbohydrate calories for energy. Only after the first few minutes of exercise does your body begin to use stored fat calories for energy. If your goal is to burn fat, adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the lowest number in your training zone.
SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1 1. Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible. Hold for 15 counts, then relax. Repeat 3 times. Stretches: Hamstrings, back of knees and back. 2 2. Hamstring Stretch Sit with one leg extended.
