Field Descriptions
Field Description
Identifier Length Specifies the length in bytes of the Identifier field.
If the value of the Allocation Length field in the
CDB is too small to transfer all of the identifier, the
length is not adjusted to reflect the truncation. The
identifier length is initially set to 0. Only a
successful
SET DEVICE IDENTIFIER command
changes the value of the identifier.
Identifier The value reported is the last value written by a
successful
SET DEVICE IDENTIFIER command.
Only a successful
SET DEVICE IDENTIFIER
command changes the value of the identifier. The
identifier value persists through resets, power
cycles, media
WRITE operations, and media
replacement.
