INSTALLATION & OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
QB 1/4-Turn Ball Valve Frostproof Sillcocks
1. D
etermine the location for
installation of the QB
sillcock
. Be sure t
h
e
r
e
is adequate work area in the
interior of the structure for securing the QB sillcock
to the water supply.
2. Bore a 1
3
/
16
” diameter hole through the wall in the
desired position for installation.
3. Flush
all foreign particles from the water line be-
fore connecti
ng the QB sillcock. Foreign particles
may clog the vacuum breaker/backflow preventor
causing it to fail.
5. Ins
ert the QB sillcock through the hole and secure
the
sillcock t
o
t
he
s
upply piping. If threading the
sillcock onto the supply piping, hand tighten the
connection then align the spout in the down position.
6. Secure the QB sillcock to the structure by using in-
staller provided stainless steel screws.
4. If planning to solder the QB sillcock to the supply
piping, fully open the valve before applying heat to the
seat. Do not overheat, overheating the valve will dam-
age the internal components of the QB sillcock.
INSTALLATION:
Before installing your ball valve frostproof sillcock, please make note of the following:
•
The shutoff point of the QB sillcock needs
to be installed in an area that is heated.
•
All frostproof sillcock
s need to be installed with a slight downward pitch to allow the valve to drain properly. Your QB
sillcock

the drainage pitch built in. When installed against a perpendicular wall, proper drainage will occur.

OPERATION:
Turn the handle counterclockwise to flow water. Full
flow is acheived after a turn of 90 degrees, or 1/4-turn.

Always remove hose during freez

tures to avoid trapping water in the
valve that may cause freeze damage.
Do not overturn when opening or closing the sillcock!
MAINTE
NANCE:
The Quarter Ball 1/4-turn ball valve frostproof sillcock
requires no scheduled maintenance for long wear life.
The packing nut closest to the handle can be adjusted
over time if leakage occurs past the stem.
