Remove the cylinder, and then the piston pin using the rod assy (special tool).
Examples of the rod assy (special tool) usages are shown according to the type of the rod assy.
Rod Assy: 1101-96220 HB23 Series, HBZ26 Series
1. Remove the engine short block (refer to “3-1 Rotor
Removal”) and then remove the cylinder.
2. Remove the snap rings from both sides of the
piston pin.
3. Engage the rod assy (special tool) against the
piston pin and gently tap with a plastic hammer to
push out the pin.
Hard hammering may damage the big end of
the connecting rod.
EBZ71/ 80 Series are designed so that the
piston assembly can be disassembled
without any tool. However, if it is difficult to
pull out the piston pin, use the special tool
(Rod Assy: 1101-96220) to push out the
piston pin.
