10. Programming the speed controller
a) Flashing signals on the speed controller LED
• The LED is constant when the throttle/brake lever on the remote control is in the neutral position
Crawler mode is enabled. This is the correct mode for the vehicle.
• The LED ashes when the throttle/brake lever on the remote control is in the neutral position
Normal mode is activated. This is the wrong mode for this vehicle. Switch the speed controller to crawler mode
(see section 10. c).

b) Programming undervoltage detection
The speed controller can be powered with a 6-cell NiMH battery (7.2 V rated voltage) or a 2-cell LiPo battery (7.4 V
rated voltage).
If a 2-cell LiPo battery is used, you must check whether undervoltage detection is enabled before driving
the vehicle, otherwise the LiPo battery may overdischarge and be permanently damaged.
You will hear a beep when the remote control and speed controller are switched on.
The beep is generated by the motor.

To enable undervoltage detection, proceed as follows:
• Switch on the remote control.
• Switch off the speed controller.
• Press and hold the button on the speed controller (see
arrow in right-hand image), and then switch on the
speed controller (keep the button pressed down, do not
release!).
• Ifthemotorbeepstwice("••"),releasethebuttonim-
mediately.
You will then hear three long beeps ("
").
• Undervoltage detection is now enabled.
When undervoltage detection is enabled, the speed controller switches the motor off when the battery volt-
age drops below 6.0 V (3.0 V per LiPo cell). This prevents the LiPo battery from overdischarging.
