Thank you for purchasing a Remington forced air heater. Please keep your User’s Manual for future
reference and seasonal servicing recommendations.
Locate the LP cylinder at least 6 feet (10 ft. in Canada) from the heater, and do not direct the heater dis-
charge towards the LP cylinder unless it is at least 20 feet from the heater. Use only the regulator and
hose assembly provided with this heater.
If you have purchased the Remington 125,000 BTU or 150,000 BTU heater, you must use a 100 lb.
propane tank for proper operation. If you have purchased a 375,000 BTU heater, you must use two (2)
100 lb. propane tanks for proper operation.
How to Get Your New Heater Quickly Up and Running
1. Familiarize yourself with all safety instructions in the front of your User’s Manual.
2. Remove the heater from the box. Ensure all parts are included and assemble per the instructions. If
you are missing parts, do not take the heater back to the store—call us at 866-676-1989.
3. Remove any protective material applied to the heater for shipment.
4. Check the heater for damage. If damage is found, contact us at 866-676-1989.
5. Ensure the heater Valve Knob and the Supply Valve on the tank are turned to the OFF position.
6. Fasten the propane cylinder to the heater’s regulator and the hose to the inlet connector on the
heater.
7. Plug in the heater to a minimum 6-foot, 14-gauge, 3-prong grounded extension cord.
8. Open the supply valve of the propane tank. Press down and turn the heater control knob to the “1”
position (ignition). Keep the valve knob depressed for at least 30 seconds. If the burner does not
stay lit, repeat the lighting procedure. Only use this heater in a well-ventilated outdoor space!
NOTE: If you have a REM-40-GFA-O with piezo electric spark ignition, you may need to keep
switching from the “O” (o) to the “1” position multiple times for ignition.
This heater is manufactured for use with propane gas only. DO NOT attempt to convert it to any
other gas. Such modifications are dangerous and will void the warranty.
