SAFETY INFORMATION
Warning! To reduce the risk of injury, user must read and
follow all warnings, safety and installation instructions in the
operator’s manual.
Warning! Do not use metal blades with this head.
Warning! Wear Eye, Ear, Foot and Body Protection
When in Use.
Warning! Do Not Exceed 8,000 RPM.
Warning! Do Not Use BLADES in Vertical position.
Warning! Change Blades When Broken. Do not use if
vibrating excessively. Excessive Vibration can damage your
trimmer and can result in excessive temperatures which
may melt the head, resulting in the head coming off the
trimmer. USE two blades do not operate with just one
blade.
Warning! If any excessive vibration occurs during use, stop
the trimmer immediately to check for damage.
Warning! Check metal pins for wear - Discard head if
significant.
Warning! Keep bystanders and pets at least 50 feet away
while operating trimmer.
Warning! Operator and any bystanders must wear eye
protection or face shield to reduce risk of eye injury.
Failure to wear eye protection can result in blindness.
Eye protection that meets ANSI Z87.1 is recommended.
Warning! To reduce the risk of hearing loss, always wear
hearing protection.
Warning! Objects may be thrown or ricochet in all
directions. To reduce the risk of injury to operator, never
operate a trimmer without a properly mounted guard. And,
wear proper clothing to protect feet, legs and any other
exposed body parts.
Warning! Never wear open-toed shoes or shorts while
trimming. Heavy boots should be worn.
Warning! To reduce the risk of injury from broken parts,
check the condition of your trimmer head before each use
and at regular short intervals. Do not continue to use if
broken or damaged.
Warning! Keep feet and hands away from the trimmer head
while operating the string trimmer.
Warning! Never change blades, line, or head while trimmer
engine is running - make sure the trimmer is in the OFF
position.
Warning! Only use the parts supplied with this product. Do
not substitute parts from other sources or modify.
Warning! After snapping head in place. Ensure it is secure
and cannot be pulled off without pressing the snaps. Do not
use until the head is securely snapped on.
Warning! Never use this head with line and blades together.

operating instructions. Unauthorized modifications to your
trimmer or trimmer head may result in the failure of your

Easy Installation
Select the right method and then it is as Easy as 1-2-3
1. Detach – unsnap existing cap remove line spool and
(spring, if applicable)
2. Identify – which parts are needed
3. Install – snap on your new head

The following tips may help you maximize operating
performance and protect you and your trimmer:
Read all instructions and safety information prior to use!
• During installation remember that the trimmer head may
only fit one way. If you are having trouble, try rotating the
head 180 degree to ensure a secure fit. Pull on the head to
check.
• Ensure no foreign objects such as string or long
vegetation have wrapped around the shaft.
• The Electric Hybrid head can be ran with 1 or 2 strips of
line. For longer runtime use 1 strip instead of 2. NEVER use
line and blades together. When using blade always use 2
do not operate with 1 blade
• Line strips may need to be cut to length to fit your specific
trimmer guard.

Method 1: For Ryobi
Ryobi 24V: RY24201A, RY24210A Ryobi 40V: RY40240, RY40210B, RY40210CMB Ryobi 18V ONE+: P2013, P2015,
P2030, P2034, P2060A, P2080
Press side tabs on original trimmer head housing and remove the original line, spool, and cap.
1. Remove PART 1 ASSEMBLY from Part 2 and 3.
2. Attach PART 1 ASSEMBLY by snapping it into the existing head housing.
3. Warning! After snapping head in place. Ensure it is secure and cannot be pulled off without pressing the snaps. Do not use
until the head is securely snapped on. Remember that the trimmer head may only fit one way. If you are having trouble, try
rotating the head 180 degree to ensure a secure fit. Pull on the head to check.
4. Once trimmer head is attached see Trimmer Blade Loading and Line Loading section of this manual for loading replacement
blades and line.
Method 2: For most Black & Decker and Homelite
Black & Decker: GH710, GH900, LST136, LST136B, LST140C, LST201, LST220, LST300, LST320C, LST400, LST420,
LST522, ST7700, ST8600, LSTE523, LSTE525, LSTE525BT
Homelite: UT41112B, UT41121A
Press side tabs on original trimmer head housing and remove the original line, spool, and cap.
1. Combine PART 1 ASSEMBLY and PART 2 CLIP.
2. Attach PART 1 ASSEMBLY and PART 2 CLIP by snapping it into the existing head housing (Use the snaps from PART 2
CLIP).
3. Warning! After snapping head in place. Ensure it is secure and cannot be pulled off without pressing the snaps. Do not use
until the head is securely snapped on. Remember that the trimmer head may only fit one way. If you are having trouble, try
rotating the head 180 degree to ensure a secure fit. Pull on the head to check.
Method 3: For some Black & Decker (Curved Shaft)
Black & Decker: GH3000 and LST560C
Press side tabs on original trimmer head housing and remove the original line, spool, and cap.
1. Combine PART 1 ASSEMBLY, PART 2 CLIP, and PART 3 CLIP RING.
2. Attach PART 1 ASSEMBLY, PART 2 CLIP, and PART 3 CLIP RING by snapping it into the existing head housing (Use the
snaps from PART 2 CLIP to attach PART 3 CLIP RING. Use the snaps from PART 3 CLIP RING to attach to the existing
housing).
3. Warning! After snapping head in place. Ensure it is secure and cannot be pulled off without pressing the snaps. Do not use
until the head is securely snapped on. Remember that the trimmer head may only fit one way. If you are having trouble, try
rotating the head 180 degree to ensure a secure fit. Pull on the head to check.
4. Once trimmer head is attached see Trimmer Blade Loading and Line Loading section of this manual for loading replacement
blades and line.
Trimmer Line Loading
1. Use strips of line approximately 6 to 8 inches long. Line strips should be cut to length,
to fit your specific trimmer guard.
2. Insert line into eyelet. (See line load arrow)
3. Simply push the line through until visible in the finger gap (do not extend the line
beyond the outer rim of the trimmer head).
4. Repeat process for the other side if 2 strips are preferred.
5. To unload pull line from the exit point or unsnap head and use buttons if the line jams.
Trimmer Blade Loading
1. Unsnap the head from the trimmer head housing or the PART 3 CLIP RING
depending on your trimmer type.
2. Separate the two pieces of PART 1 ASSEMBLY. This will create a gap and expose
the metal pin which will hold the blade.
3. Place a blade on each metal pin using the hole in the blade.
4. Press the two pieces of PART 1 ASSEMBLY back together. Reattach the trimmer
head to the trimmer housing. Ensure it is secure and cannot be pulled off without
pressing the snaps. Do not use until the head is securely snapped on.
5. Pull back on the blades to ensure they are secure. When using blades always use 2
do not operate with 1 blade (Make sure to check the metal pins for wear – Discard head
if significant).
Warning! Do not use metal blades with this head. Only use blades made specifical-
ly for this head.
