Troubleshooting
Are the volume knobs raised?
Check the volume knobs of your speakers or playback system, and of your sound module.
Could the volume control fader be lowered?
If a mixer utility was included with the sound card you’re using, check the mixer utility and
make sure that the playback volume is raised sufficiently.
To start up the mixer utility, move the mouse pointer to the volume icon shown in the
Windows taskbar and double-click.
If there is no volume icon shown in the taskbar, proceed as follows.
Windows Vista:
From the Windows Start menu, choose Control Panel | Hardware and Sound | Sound |
Adjust system volume to start up the Volume Mixer.
Windows XP:
From the Windows Start menu, choose All Programs | Accessories | Entertainment |
Volume Control.
Is the driver of the audio device installed correctly?
Make sure that the audio device driver is installed correctly.
Change the output destination audio setting.
1. Choose the Menu item Setup | Set Up Audio/MIDI Devices .
2. Change the output destination.
Change the Audio Driver Type (default: Windows Direct Sound).
Change the Audio Output Device (default: Primary sound driver).
Have you specified a Standard MIDI File that can be loaded?
Make sure that the Standard MIDI File you specified meets the following conditions.
•Format: 0 or 1
Number of measures: 999 or fewer
Number of events: 99,999 or fewer
Resolution: 24 TPQN or higher
Sound is interrupted during playback
Can’t load a song
