Overall problems
The unit turns o
unexpectedly
Check the Auto O system setting.
The FA will automatically be turned o when no operation has been
performed for a certain length of time. (At the factory settings, the
power will be turned o after 4 hours.)
If you want the FA to stay on, change the Auto O system setting to
OFF.

Power won’t turn on
Are the included AC adaptor and power cord correctly
connected to an outlet and to the FA?
Do not use any AC adaptor or power cord other than the supplied
items. Doing so will cause malfunctions.

Problems with the sound
No sound
Is the connected amp or speaker powered up? Turn on the power of the connected amp or speaker.
Could the volume of a connected device have been
lowered?
Adjust the volume of the connected equipment.
Could the [VOLUME] knob be set to the minimum level? Adjust the [VOLUME] knob. p. 19
Are your amp, speakers, headphones, etc., connected
correctly?
Correctly connect your amp, speakers, and headphones. p. 8
Can you connect headphones and hear sound through
them?
If you hear sound through your headphones, it may be that there
is a broken connection cable, or that your amp or mixer have
malfunctioned. Check your connection cables and equipment once
again.
Are the settings for the output destination correct?
Check the various Output Assign settings.

Could you be using a connection cable that contains a
resistor?
Use a connection cable that does not contain a resistor.
If pressing the keyboard does not produce sound, could
the Local switch be turned o?

Could the tones partials be turned o? Turn the Partial Switch ON. p. 49
Could the level setting be too low? In the Sound system settings, check the Master Level setting. p. 100
Are the eect settings correct?
Check the eect on/o settings. Also check settings such as the eect
levels.

Has the expansion sound data been loaded correctly?
If the settings of the sound use a tone, wave, or instrument of an
expansion sound, make sure that the corresponding expansion sound
data is loaded correctly.

Could the volume have been lowered by a pedal
operation, a D-BEAM controller operation, or a MIDI
message (volume or expression) received from an external
MIDI device?
Adjust the Level setting to raise the volume of the part that you don’t
hear.
Step on the pedal, move your hand above the D-BEAM controller, and
check settings of the other controllers.

Could a key range be set?
If you don’t hear sound from a specic range of keys, check the key
range settings.

Sound is distorted
Could you be applying an eect that intentionally distorts
the sound?
If the sound of a specic tone or part is distorted, lower the volume of
that tone or part.

Could the [VOLUME] knob be set too high? If the overall sound is distorted, lower the [VOLUME] knob. p. 19
Could the Output Gain be raised excessively? In the Sound system settings, check the Output Gain setting. p. 100
Could a system eect be applied?
It may be that the Master EQ or TFX settings are making the sound
distort. Check the Master EQ and TFX settings.

Pitch is wrong
Could the FAs tuning be incorrect? In the Sound system settings, check the Master Tune setting. p. 100
Could the pitch have been changed by a pedal operation
or by a pitch bend message received from an external
MIDI device?

Could the Coarse Tune, Fine Tune, or Master Tune
parameters be set?

Notes are broken o
Notes will be interrupted if more than 128 notes are
sounded simultaneously.
Reduce the number of layers in the studio set you’re using. Increase the
voice reserve setting for layers in which notes must not drop out.

Could the polarity of the hold pedal be reversed? Check the system setting Hold Pedal Polarity. p. 98
