Safety precautions • When using your headset while driving, follow local regulations in the region you are in. • Never disassemble or modify your headset for any reason. Doing this may cause the headset to malfunction or become combustible. Bring the headset to an authorized service center to repair it. • Keep your device and all accessories out of the reach of small children or animals.

Charging the headset This headset has a rechargeable internal battery which is non-removable. Make sure the headset is fully charged before using it for the first time. 1 Connect the travel adapter to the charging socket on the headset. 2 Plug the travel adapter in to the wall outlet. During charging, the indicator light will turn red. If charging does not begin, unplug the travel adapter and plug it in again. 3 When the headset is fully charged, the red indicator light changes to blue.
Never make or receive calls while charging, always disconnect your headset from the charger and answer the call. English • When the headset battery is low The headset beeps and the indicator light flashes red. If the headset powers off during a call, the call will be automatically transferred to the phone. Checking the battery level To check the battery level, press and hold the Volume down button and the Talk button at the same time.
Wearing the headset Depending on which ear you are going to wear the headset, simply adjust the ear hook accordingly. Left Right You can also use the optional ear rubbers instead of the ear hook. Remove the earpiece cover and attach the ear rubber. Then, rotate the ear rubber left or right slightly depending on which ear you are going to wear the headset. Using your headset This section explains how to turn the headset on, pair and connect to the phone, and use various functions.
• Keep the distance between your headset and device as small as possible and avoid placing your body or other objects in the signals path. • If you usually use your mobile phone with your right hand, wear the headset on your right ear. • Covering your headset or device could effect its performance so keep contact to a minimum. Turning the headset on or off To turn the headset on Slide up the power switch. The blue indicator light flashes 4 times.
Using voice prompts Voice prompts will inform you about the current status of the headset and usage instructions. If you can't hear any voice prompts, make sure the voice prompt feature is turned on. Turning the voice prompt on or off To turn voice prompts on In Pairing mode, press and hold the Volume up button for 3 seconds. You will hear “Ready to Pair. Pin code is 0000” repeatedly from your headset. To enter Pairing mode, see page 12.

Pairing and connecting the headset Pairing means unique and encrypted wireless connection between two Bluetooth devices when they agree to communicate with each other. In Pairing mode, two devices should be placed close enough to each other. Pairing and connecting the headset with a phone 1 Enter Pairing mode. (The blue indicator light stays lit and stays for 3 minutes.) • With the headset turned on, press and hold the Talk button for 3 seconds.
Your headset supports the Simple Pairing feature which allows the headset to be paired with a Bluetooth device without requesting a PIN. This feature is available for devices that are compliant with Bluetooth version 2.1 or higher. • If your phone supports Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), you can also listen to music with your headset. You cannot control playback using your headset.
Connecting with two Bluetooth phones With the Multi-point feature activated, your headset can be connected to 2 Bluetooth phones at the same time. To turn Multi-point feature on In Pairing mode, press and hold the Volume up button. The blue indicator light flashes twice. To turn Multi-point feature off In Pairing mode, press and hold the Volume down button. The red indicator light flashes twice. 1 After connecting with the first Bluetooth phone, enter Pairing mode again.
You can also pair and connect your headset with a music device such as an MP3 player. The process of connecting to a music device is the same as for connecting with a phone. When connected to both devices (phone and music device) you can make or receive a call on the phone while listening to music from the MP3 device. • You cannot control playback using your headset. • If your headset is already connected with the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), you cannot connect with another music device.
Disconnecting the headset Turn off the headset or use the Bluetooth menu on your phone. Using call functions • Available call functions may differ from phone to phone. • Some functions are only available when using the Hands-Free profile. Making a call Redialing the latest number To redial the last number dialed on the primary phone, • Press and hold the Talk button. To redial the last number dialed on the secondary phone, • Press the Talk button twice. Some phones open the call log list.
English This function is only available on the primary phone. Answering a call Press the Talk button to answer a call when a call comes in. Rejecting a call Press and hold the Talk button to reject a call when a call comes in. • If you receive calls on both connected devices at the same time you can only answer or reject the call on the primary phone. • When you are listening to music, the music stops during a call. Ending a call Press the Talk button to end a call.
You will hear a beep when the volume level of the headset reaches it's lowest or highest level. Muting the microphone Press and hold the Volume up or down button to turn the microphone off so that the person with whom you are speaking cannot hear you. When the microphone is turned off, the headset beeps at regular intervals. Press and hold the Volume up or down button again to turn the microphone back on.
English Resetting the headset When the headset is paired with a device, it automatically saves connection and feature settings, such as the Bluetooth address or device type of the mobile phone. If you want to reset the connection settings in the headset; • In Pairing mode, press and hold both Volume buttons and Talk button at the same time for 3 seconds. The headset will turn on automatically.
Appendix Frequently asked questions Will my headset work with laptops, PCs, and PDAs? Your headset will work with devices that support your headset’s Bluetooth version and profiles. For specifications, see page 25. Why do I hear static or interference while on a call? Appliances such as cordless phones and wireless networking equipment may cause interference, which usually sounds like static. To reduce any interference, keep the headset away from other devices that use or produce radio waves.
When you pair your headset to your Bluetooth phone, you are creating a private link between only these two Bluetooth devices. The wireless Bluetooth technology used in your headset is not easily monitored by third parties because Bluetooth wireless signals are significantly lower in radio frequency power than those produced by a typical mobile phone. Why do I hear an echo while on a call? Adjust the headset volume, or move to another area and try again.

Chargement de l’oreillette Cette oreillette est dotée d’une pile interne rechargeable qui ne peut être retirée. Veiller à complètement charger la pile avant d’utiliser l’oreillette pour la première fois. 1 Brancher l’adaptateur de voyage dans la prise de recharge de l’oreillette. 2 Brancher l’adaptateur de voyage dans la prise murale. Le témoin lumineux deviendra rouge pendant le chargement. Si l’oreillette ne se recharge pas, débrancher l’adaptateur de voyage et le rebrancher.
• Les chargements et déchargements répétitifs de l’oreillette diminueront progressivement le rendement de la pile. C’est un phénomène normal pour toutes les piles rechargeables. • Ne jamais passer ou prendre un appel pendant le chargement; toujours débrancher l’oreillette du chargeur, puis répondre à l’appel. Français Lorsque la charge de la pile est faible L’oreillette émet un signal d’avertissement et le témoin lumineux clignote en rouge.
Port de l’oreillette Régler simplement le crochet auriculaire en fonction de l’oreille sur laquelle vous porterez l’oreillette. Gauche Droite Vous pouvez aussi utiliser les revêtements d’écouteur en caoutchouc (en option) à la place du crochet. Retirer le dispositif de protection de l'écouteur, puis fixer le revêtement en caoutchouc. Ensuite, tourner ce dernier vers la gauche ou la droite, en fonction de l’oreille sur laquelle vous porterez l’oreillette.
Pour s’assurer d’obtenir le rendement optimal de l’oreillette Garder l’oreillette et l’appareil le plus près possible l’un de l’autre, et éviter de placer votre corps ou tout autre objet dans la trajectoire du signal. • Porter l’oreillette sur l’oreille droite si vous utilisez généralement le téléphone cellulaire de la main droite. • Ne pas couvrir l’oreillette ou l’appareil, car cela peut influencer le rendement. Éviter les contacts.
Utilisation du guide vocal Le guide vocal vous avisera de l’état actuel de l’oreillette et vous fournira des instructions. Si vous n’entendez pas le guide vocal, vérifier que la fonction est bien activée. Activation et désactivation du guide vocal Activation du guide vocal En mode de synchronisation, maintenir la touche d’augmentation de volume enfoncée pendant 3 secondes. Vous entendrez à plusieurs reprises le message « Ready to Pair.
• En mode de synchronisation, maintenir simultanément les deux touches de volume enfoncées pour sélectionner une langue.
Synchronisation et connexion de l’oreillette La synchronisation consiste en une connexion sans fil unique et cryptée entre deux appareils Bluetooth, lorsqu’ils acceptent de communiquer ensemble. En mode de synchronisation, les deux appareils doivent être à proximité l’un de l’autre. Synchronisation et connexion de l’oreillette avec un téléphone 1 Activation du mode de synchronisation. (Un témoin lumineux bleu apparaît pendant 3 minutes).
4 Le cas échéant, saisir le NIP Bluetooth 0000 (4 zéros) pour effectuer la synchronisation et connecter l’oreillette au téléphone. Une fois la synchronisation terminée, l’oreillette tentera de se reconnecter chaque fois que vous la mettez en marche. L’oreillette prend en charge la fonction Synchronisation simple qui lui permet d’être synchronisée avec un appareil Bluetooth sans qu’un NIP soit demandé. Cette fonction est offerte sur les appareils qui sont conformes à la version 2.
• Le téléphone Bluetooth auquel vous souhaitez connecter l’oreillette ne doit pas être synchronisé avec d’autres appareils. Si le téléphone est déjà connecté à un autre appareil, mettre fin à la connexion et redémarrer la fonction Synchronisation active. • Il est possible que cette fonction ne soit pas offerte sur certains appareils. • Lorsque l’oreillette est synchronisée avec votre téléphone, une connexion est alors établie par le Profil mains libres.
Après avoir connecté l’oreillette au premier téléphone Bluetooth, activer de nouveau le mode de synchronisation. 2 Activer la fonction Bluetooth du deuxième téléphone, puis chercher l’oreillette. 3 Sélectionner l’oreillette (HM1700) dans la liste des appareils détectés par le second téléphone Bluetooth. 4 Le cas échéant, saisir le NIP Bluetooth 0000 (4 zéros) pour connecter l’oreillette au second téléphone Bluetooth. 5 Reconnecter l’oreillette à partir du premier téléphone Bluetooth.
Reconnexion de l’oreillette Si la connexion est perdue en cours d’utilisation : Pour reconnecter l’oreillette au téléphone synchronisé (HFP) • Appuyer sur la touche de conversation de votre oreillette ou utiliser le menu Bluetooth sur votre téléphone. Pour reconnecter l’oreillette au lecteur de musique synchronisé (A2DP) • Maintenir la touche d’augmentation de volume de votre oreillette ou utiliser le menu Bluetooth de votre lecteur de musique.
Utilisation des fonctions d’appel Français • Les fonctions d’appel offertes varient selon le téléphone. • Certaines fonctions sont uniquement offertes avec l’utilisation du profil mains libres. Faire un appel Recomposition du dernier numéro Pour recomposer le dernier numéro composé avec le téléphone principal : • Maintenir la touche de conversation enfoncée. Pour recomposer le dernier numéro composé avec le deuxième téléphone : • Appuyer deux fois sur la touche de conversation.
Répondre à un appel Appuyer sur la touche de conversation pour répondre à un appel. Rejeter un appel Maintenir la touche de conversation enfoncée pour rejeter un appel. • Si vous recevez simultanément un appel sur les deux téléphones connectés, vous pouvez seulement répondre ou rejeter l’appel sur le téléphone principal. • Lorsque vous écoutez de la musique, celle-ci s’arrête quand vous prenez un appel. Mettre fin à un appel Appuyer sur la touche de conversation pour mettre fin à un appel.
Français Désactivation du microphone Pour désactiver le microphone, maintenir l’une des touches de volume enfoncée, de façon à empêcher votre interlocuteur de vous entendre. Lorsque le microphone est désactivé, l’oreillette émet un signal sonore à intervalles réguliers. Maintenir de nouveau l’une des touches de volume enfoncée pour réactiver le microphone. Transfert d’un appel du téléphone à l’oreillette Appuyer sur la touche de conversation pour transférer un appel du téléphone à l’oreillette.
Réinitialisation de l’oreillette Lorsque l’oreillette est synchronisée avec un appareil, elle enregistre automatiquement les paramètres de connexion comme l’adresse Bluetooth ou le type de téléphone cellulaire. Si vous souhaitez réinitialiser les paramètres de connexion de votre oreillette : • En mode de synchronisation, maintenir simultanément les deux touches de volume et la touche de conversation enfoncées pendant 3 secondes. L’oreillette se mettra automatiquement en marche.

Les autres utilisateurs de téléphones Bluetooth peuvent-ils entendre ma conversation?
