Index Search Direct Time Search
Blank Search
Index Search will fast-forward or rewind a specified number of
Index Marks from I to 99. When it reaches the desired Index Mark,
it will play the tape. Use Index Search when you know the exact
Index Mark you want to locate
1 Open "SEARCH MENU"
From Stopor Play mode, pressthe SEARCHbutton.
2 Select "Index Search/Scan"
Using theup/down_movethe selection arrow to "index
Search/Scan,"then pushright toselect.
3 Enter # of Marks to Search
Enter a numberfrom 1 to 99; e.g. for "5" press "0-5".
4 Search for Index Marks
Press Fast-Forwardor Rewind to begin searching forward or
backwardfor the specified IndexMark. When the VCR locates the
Index Mark, it will ptaythetape.
With Blank Search you can easily locate the next available blank
(unused) segment on your videotape.
1 Open "SEARCH MENU"
From Stop or Play mode, pressthe SEARCH button.
2 Select "Blank Search"
Using the up/down, move the selection arrow to "Blank Search,"
then push dght to select.
The DVD-VCR will automatically search for the next available
blank space on your tape and stop.
If no blank space is found, the tape will be ejected.
Use Direct Time Search to locate a specific tape location in hours,
minutes, and seconds. This is useful for editing purposes, Le. you
can advance the tape directly to the beginning of the desired scene.
1 Open "SEARCH MENU"
From Stopor Play mode, pressthe SEARCH button.
2 Select "Direct Time Search"
Using the up/down,move theselection arrow to "DirectTime
Search," thenpushright to select.
3 Select +/- Counter Value
Press1 for positiveor 2 for negativecounter values.
4 Enter the Time
Use the numberbuttons (0-9) to enter thedesired time in hours,
minutes, and seconds. PressClearif you needto backupand re-
enter a number.
5 Start the Search
Pressthe SEARCHbutton to advancethe tape to thespecified
time.
