The wide LCD screen on your camcorder offers high quality image viewing. Please note: If the hand strap is adjusted too tightly and you use excessive force to insert your hand, the hand strap hook of the camcorder may be damaged. 1. 2. Low ambient temperature (below 50ºF(10ºC)) may shorten its usage time and affect its function. Before recording in low temperatures, put the battery into your pocket to warm it, then install it in the camcorder. • Make sure to store the battery separately after use.

About the storage media Handling a memory card • We recommend that you power off before inserting or removing the memory card to avoid data loss. • We cannot guarantee that you can use memory cards formatted by other devices. When you format a card, be sure to format the memory card using this camcorder. • You must format newly-purchased memory cards, memory cards with data that your camcorder cannot recognise, and cards with data saved by other devices.

Basic recording ZOOMING Use the zoom function for close-up or wide-angle recording. This camcorder allows you to record using 52x optical power zoom, 65x Intelli-zoom and 2200x digital zoom. Recording options WHITE BALANCE Using the White Balance function, you can select a setting that matches the light illuminating the subject you are shooting (Daylight, Fluorescent, etc.) or let the camcorder make all adjustments automatically. Recording options APERTURE Setting the aperture manually: The camcorder adjusts the aperture automatically depending on the subject and recording conditions. Exposure value is the total amount of light allowed to fall on the photographic medium (Image sensor) during the process of taking photos or videos. Recording options FOCUS Face detection The camcorder usually focuses on a subject automatically (auto focus). When the camcorder is turned on, auto-focus will always be set. Recording options Focusing manually during recording: Focusing on a further subject This camcorder automatically focuses subjects from close-up to infinity. However, the correct focus may not be obtained depending on the recording conditions. In this case, use the manual focus mode. 1. 2. Recording options ANTI-SHAKE (HDIS) Use the Anti-Shake (HDIS) function to compensate for unstable images caused by shaking movements when holding the camcorder.
