Operation
Check before switching on
► Before switching on the coffee machine, check whether the following conditions are ful-
filled.
Conditions for switching on the coffee machine:
• The main water valve (in machines with a mains water supply) is open/the drinking water
tank is filled with fresh water.
• The waste water outlet has been correctly laid/the waste water tank is connected.
• The bean hopper(s) is/are filled and the locking mechanism (option) is open.
• The grounds container is empty and inserted correctly.
• The coffee machine is connected to the mains power supply.
Switching on
► Switch the coffee machine on using the rocker switch near the bottom of the rear side (next
to the power connector).
 The machine switches on.
 The main screen appears, and the machine begins to heat up.
 The machine is ready to use as soon as the required temperature is reached.
Option 1: Side cooling unit
► Connect the side cooling unit to the mains and switch it on using the main switch.
Option 2: Under-machine cooling unit
► Open the door of the under-machine cooling unit.
► Switch on the switch, see arrow.
 The cooling unit is switched on.
 The cooling temperature is preset at the factory.
When the machine is switched on for the first time, a display-guided adjustment of the machine
configuration follows automatically.
Take heed of the operating instructions of the side cooling unit.

No more than 40 cmcm should be between the milk package and the beverage outlet.
