Audio setting
A number of different methods are used to record audio onto a DVD-Video disc, including
multi-channels (used for voiceovers in other languages), DTS, MPEG audio and Linear
PCM. Your system provides a number of different audio modes from which you can
choose to suit the type of disc you are playing.

Press the SET UP button whilst pressing down the SHIFT
button during playback.
The function control screen appears.

Use the cursor ▲ or ▼ button
to select
and then press the
ENTER button.

Press the cursor ▲ or ▼ button
to select the audio format you
want to use.

Press the ENTER button to confirm the setting.
You can exit the function control screen by pressing the SET UP button
whilst pressing down the SHIFT button or the RETURN button.
Notes:
I This function can only be used for discs on which the sound has been
recorded in multiple formats.
I With certain types of discs, you can change the audio using the disc menu
(see page 40).
I You can also press the SOUND button whilst pressing down the SHIFT
button on the remote control for the same operation in step 3.
(You can skip steps 1 and 2.)

H 3-D Virtual Surround setting
I You can enjoy 3-D surround on DVD with Dolby Digital Sound.
I You can also enjoy 3-D surround using 3 speakers.

Press the SET UP button whilst pressing down the SHIFT
button during playback.
The function control screen appears.

Use the cursor ▲ or ▼ button
to select
and then press the
ENTER button.

Press the cursor ▲ or ▼ button to select “ON” or “OFF”.

Whilst “ON” is selected, use the
cursor 1 or 0 button to change
the level setting.

Press the ENTER button to confirm the setting.
You can exit the function control screen by pressing the SET UP button
whilst pressing down the SHIFT button or the RETURN button.
Notes:
I 3-D Virtual Surround will not function when Compression is set to ON.
(See page 25.)
I 3-D Virtual Surround will function when headphones are in use.
I The equaliser mode will change to FLAT mode when 3-D Virtual Surround
is ON.
I You can also press the SURROUND button on the remote control for the
same operation in step 3. (You do not need to do the steps 1 and 2.)
