Copying problems
No reception occurs when
polling is attempted.
Make sure the transmitting machine is in automatic
reception mode.
If the transmitting machine has polling security, make
sure that your fax number has been entered both in
your machine (see page 26) and in the transmitting
machine.
Problem Solution
The quality of copies is
poor and/or dark vertical
lines appear.
Any dirt or material on the scanning glass will cause
spots to appear on copies and transmitted faxes.
Clean the scanning glass as explained on page 146.
The paper comes out
blank when you make a
copy.
Make sure the original is placed face down in the
feeder.
The size of the printed
document image does not
match the size of the
paper.
Make sure an appropriate enlarge/reduce setting is
selected (see page 112).
A copy is faint. Adjust the contrast setting (see page 58).
If other printed output is also faint, the toner cartridge
may need replacement (see page 150).
