Adjusting channel delay/speaker level
When speakers cannot be placed at equal distances, change speaker settings to
enjoy surround effects as if they were equally placed.
Example:
If the centre speaker is closer to the listening position than others by about 90 cm, set
as follows.
Channel delay setting
Sound from the centre speaker needs to be delayed for 90 cm. The delay time of 1
ms corresponds to 30 cm. Sound is heard as if all the speakers were equally placed.
1 The centre speaker is closer to the listener than others. In “Speaker level setting”,
adjust the centre speaker level (see page 49).
2 In “Test tone”, check the sound from each speaker (see page 49).

2 Press the FUNCTION button to select DVD mode.
3 Press the SETUP button.
4 Press the / or - button to select “AUDIO SETUP PAGE” and then
press the ENTER button.
5 Press the 8 or 9 button to select
“CHANNEL DELAY” and then
press the ENTER button.
6 Press the 8 or 9 button to select the desired speaker type.
7 Press / or - button to select the desired distance.
8 To complete the channel delay setting, press the SETUP button.
