NICAM BROADCASTS SELECTION
Enables selection of reception mode when receiving a NICAM signal.
To let you enjoy NICAM broadcasting, this LCD
TV receives NICAM system stereo, bilingual, and
monaural broadcasts.
Stereo
TV set is receiving a stereo broadcast.
• Each time you press the MPX button, the mode
switches between NICAM STEREO and MONO.
When MONO is selected, the TV sound is
output in monaural.
Bilingual
TV set is receiving a bilingual broadcast.
• Pressing the MPX button changes the audio
mode in the order shown on the right.
• M1=main sound, M2=sub sound, or
MONO=monaural sound, can be selected.
Monaural
TV set is receiving a monaural broadcast.
• Each time you press the MPX button, the mode
switches between NICAM MONO and MONO.
Notes:
 If approximately 3 seconds pass without a button being pressed, the mode setting is automatically termi-
nated and the TV set returns to normal mode.
 The setting can be selected individually for each channel position.
If the sound quality is poor due to a weak signal or
other problems during NICAM broadcast reception,
set the “OFF” position of the NICAM to change the
TV sound to monaural.
1 Press the MENU to display the MENU
screen.
2 Press the ]/[ to select
“CH-SETTING”.
3 Press the </> to display the CH-
SETTING menu.
4 Press the ]/[ to select “NICAM”.
5 Press the </> to select “OFF”.
When the NICAM sound is set to the
“OFF” position, the TV sound is output
in monaural.
Note:
 When the NICAM sound is set to the “OFF” position, the MPX button
cannot be used to change the audio mode (stereo and bilingual settings).
