Tablet Settings

Carry out the operations while charging the battery with its
battery level still left sufficiently.

In the home screen, [R]/[Settings]/[Lock &
Security]/[Encrypt tablet]

[ENCRYPT TABLET]
: If Screen lock is set to an item other than [None] or [Touch],
unlock by method set in Screen lock.

[ENCRYPT TABLET]
: If Screen lock is set to an item other than [None] or [Touch],
the password entry screen for decrypting the storage is
displayed when the power is turned on. Unlock by method
set in Screen lock.
･ When you make settings for Screen lock, you can select
whether to display the password entry screen for
decrypting the storage every time the power is turned on
(nP. 71 “Lock & security”).
You can make settings for the language displayed on the
screen, character entry, text-to-speech, etc.

[Language & input]

Select an item
 Current selected keyboard: Set the input software to use
when entering characters.
･ Touch [CHOOSE KEYBOARDS] to switch ON/OFF of the
input software using on the tablet.
 Google Keyboard: Make settings for Google Keyboard.
 S-Shoin: Make settings for S-Shoin. For details on each item
that can be set nP. 19 “Setting character entry”
 Google voice typing: Make settings for Google voice typing.
 Moji-Henshu: Check information on the app or the open
source licenses of Moji-Henshu.
 Select language: Select Japanese/English.
 Voice input: Make settings for the voice input.
 Text-to-speech output: Make settings for the voice for
reading the characters displayed on the tablet.
 Spell checker: Make settings for Spell checker.
 Personal dictionary: Register any words into Personal
dictionary and display them as conversion candidates when
you enter characters with Google Keyboard.
 Pointer speed: Set the speed of the pointer.
 Character code setting: Set a character code to use when
sending data from an app.
You can back up data using a Google account, transfer data to/
from among devices, perform Reset all, etc.

 Back up my data: Set whether to automatically back up app
data, Wi-Fi passwords, etc. using a Google account.
 Backup account: Set a Google account to use when backing
up data.
 Automatic restore: Set whether to restore backed up data,
settings, etc. of an app when you re-install the app.
 Data transfer: For details nP. 73 “Data transfer”
 Reset all: For details nP. 74 “Resetting all”
You can import data or back up/restore data on the tablet
using a microSD Card. In addition, you can import phonebook
data on other devices using the Bluetooth function.
The following data can be backed up to/restored from a microSD
Card.
 Phonebook
 SMS
 Bookmark
 Calendar
 Notepad

 User/Learning dictionary (S-Shoin)
* You need to download the app separately.
While you are backing up data to a microSD Card, [Airplane
mode] is ON.
When the available space on the tablet memory is less than 11
MB, you cannot back up data to a microSD Card.
Insert a microSD Card in advance when using one.

Enter the passcode/[OK]

Select the data categories to save
: If you select [Address Book], the screen for selecting which
account to save is displayed.

■ Restoring backup file

[Data import]
Note that all data on the tablet are deleted if Encrypt tablet is
interrupted.
If you enter wrong patterns/lock numbers/passwords 10 or 20
times in a row when decrypting the storage, you cannot enter
them for 30 seconds. Note that if you enter wrong ones 30
times in a row, the tablet is initialized.
Language & input
Keyboard
When you enter Japanese, use S-Shoin.
[Google Keyboard], [S-Shoin], [Moji-Henshu], [Google
voice typing]
These are displayed/hidden depending on the settings of
[CHOOSE KEYBOARDS] in Current selected keyboard.
[Spell checker]
Japanese is not supported.
Backup & reset
Data transfer
You cannot save the data when the battery level is insufficient.
