Intelligent Timer Recording (JUST REC)
When the tape is expected to run out halfway during timer recording (except for the Simple Recording Timer) in
the SP (standard play) mode, the mode will automatically change to the LP (long play) mode to prevent
termination of recording.
This
functron
works only when JUST REC mode on the MODE selection screen is set to ON.
For example:
l When a
120-minute
programme is timer-recorded with a
go-minute
tape while the automatic select is set to LP
mode as shown below.

l This function may not properly work for video tapes other than E-60, E-90, E-180 and E-240
l This tape may not be completely used up.
l When more than one programme is set on the timer, the automatic recording
functron
will work for the length of each timer-
set programme, but not for the total length of all programmes.
l When the LP mode is initially used for timer-recording a programme, if the tape is not long enough to record the entire length
of the programme, the programme will not be entirely recorded.

Audio Dubbing
This VCR allows you to add a narrative or background music to a pre-recorded tape.
l The audio signal will be recorded on the mono (linear) track. The Hi-Fi tracks remain unchanged
Connect the audio source to the
AUDIO IN L-R terminals (or L
termrnal
only) on the front of your VCR
(remember to select
L2).
If a microphone is
to be used,
connect
it
to your
audio equipment.
Audio source
Connect the audio source to the AUDIO IN L-R terminals (or L terminal only) on the front of the VCR as
shown above. (The input terminals on the rear of the VCR cannot be used.)
Insert the pre-recorded tape into the VCR.
Press PLAY/x2 to view the recording.
Press PAUSE/STILL when you reach the point on the tape where you want to begin audio dubbing.
Press
A.DUB,
(“A.DUB”
and
“12”
will be shown on the On Screen Display.)
Wait about 4 seconds and then press PAUSE/STILL to begin audio dubbing.
Press STOP to finish audio dubbing. (“A.DUB” will disappear from the On Screen Display.)

l Because the audio signal is recorded on the mono (linear) track, any previous recording on this track will be erased
l If the Auto Tracking function is used during audio dubbing, the recorded audio may be distorted. Wait about 4 seconds
