2. In the form that appears (in the General tab), set the firewall to Off.
Alternatively, the Windows firewall can be configured in order to allow the system to
operate over the network. This is possible with a dedicated script provided in:
<installation folder>\Utilities\Firewall Configuration
In this folder, double-click the file MK8000 Firewall Cnf.vbs to start the script
procedure. The script must be used on any type of stations (stand-alone/server,
client, FEP).
Note: If using Windows Vista and Windows 7, run the script procedure with
elevated privileges, or else the firewall exceptions are not configured.
3.1.3.4 SiPass software notes
SiPass software should be installed and configured before MK8000.
If you have installed MK8000 before SiPass, then proceed as follows:
1. Uninstall MK8000 and reboot.
2. Uninstall SQL Server and reboot.
3. Install SiPass.
4. Re-install MK8000.

3.1.3.5 Windows Vista and Windows 7 notes
Windows Vista and Windows 7 include several new features. Among them, two have a
significant impact on the system operations. Namely:
UAC security
Virtualization of program files and registry entries
UAC (User Account Control)
The UAC (User Account Control) is a security-related feature that is enabled by default
in Window Vista. The UAC main goal is to reduce the risk of undetected attacks to the
operating system by prompting users to ensure they are authorized and want to
perform a potentially harmful action.
When UAC is enabled, upon launching applications requiring administration privileges,
standard users are prompted to enter an administration password, and even
administrators must give an explicit consent through a UAC prompt to con-firm they
really intend to start the application.
The software applications that require administration privileges and fall under User
Account Control are identified by an icon that includes a shield like:
Typically,
the manual UAC confirmation must be provided for system tool applications
(Composer, PAK Manager, and other utilities):
When prompted, just click Continue (see image).
